We have been fans of the NYE night in well before the pandemic, so all the planning for *not* going out has prepared us for staying in. Still, 2021 is a year gone by that we want to celebrate with a hard bang. Here are cocktail, mocktail, and small bite recipes to try, festive ways to DIY while at home, and fun games to play with your little pod and/or your littles. Happy 2022 friends!
COCKTAILS
Get creative with your bubbly, from edible gold glitter on the rim (fancy!) and a cranberry/pear/ginger mix to kombucha punch and low-calorie options to make it "healthy.";) Prefer to go dry leading into January? Try these mocktail recipes that are kid- and mama-to-be-friendly.
Edibles
Drinks are definitely half the hype for any good NYE, and we venture to say that appetizers are the other half. And with drinks in one hand that means there's only one place to go: finger food. Some of our fave recipes over the years: individual charcuterie boards, Mac 'N Cheese Donuts (kids will LOVE the combo!), a DIY Popcorn Bar, DIY Donut Hole Bar, and DIY Bruschetta Bar (also fun for kids), and slow cooker recipes to warm up the night.
Don't miss our roundup of 14 glittery (and totally edible!) dessert recipes too!
DIYs
Oh what fun it is to stay home and make! Find instructions for making glittery party poppers, confetti cones, and more with our roundup of 16 DIY NYE decorations, including our own confetti DIYs, gold mylar rosettes, and photo backdrops (because why not?).
Activities
Challenge your pod to a game night, watch your favorite NYE movies ("Sex and the City," "When Harry Met Sally," and "About Time" are some good options), make it a costume Zoom party (just because!), or make a DIY night of it with fun family traditions to start this NYE, like creating time capsules, reflection cards, and NYE party hats and nibbles.
Whatever you do, just have fun and a Happy, Happy New Year. You deserve it.;)
