Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker recently experienced an unexpected hurdle with their pregnancy that initially left fans wondering and worried. Barker’s band, Blink-182, had been preparing to embark on their European tour when last Friday, the group posted a concerning announcement to their Instagram story:
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the post read. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."
At that point, it was quite unclear why exactly Barker had to step away from the tour, but given that it was deemed a “family matter,” fans immediately thought of his baby with Kardashian. Turns out, there was a scare, and the couple have now publicly addressed what happened.
In an Instagram post, Kardashian opened up about pregnancy complications that caused her to go into “urgent fetal surgery.”
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” the caption read, under a black and white picture of her hand in Barker’s.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear,” she continued. “I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
“Praise be to God,” she wrote. “Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍”
Barker made a brief announcement on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday."
Barker found out he would become a father on Father’s Day weekend of this year. Kourtney announced the news in a super playful way – during the Blink-182 concert in Los Angeles. The new-coming baby will be the couples’ first one together, but will join the mix of Kourtney’s current kids, Mason, Penelope, and Reign. Travis’ son Landon and daughter Alabama will also greet another sibling. Apparently, the couple already has a name picked out — at least according to Travis. After Kourtney shared stunning new pregnancy photos from her maternity photo shoot, the drummer hinted that the couple has *officially* chosen a name for their baby boy.
Travis commented on the Instagram post, "I already know his name" with a wink emoji.
While he didn't explicitly share the name they've landed on, Travis previously offered a name for their future son. Back in November 2021, Travis responded to a Halloween photo of Kourtney dressed as Patricia Arquette's True Romance character, Alabama Whitman, saying, "Our son's name would be Elvis."
"Elvis" may not be the final choice, but it's fun to take a guess of the name that will soon join the Kardashian-Barker family.

Kourtney announced her pregnancy with the drummer back in June by holding up a handmade sign that read "Travis I'm pregnant" during Blink-182's performance in LA. The sign-wielding gesture is a direct tribute to the storyline that's a part of the “All The Small Things” music video, making the news all the more thrilling for KUWTK and Blink-182 fans.
In the music video accompanying the Blink-182 classic “All The Small Things,” you can see Travis’ brief (but oh-so steamy) beachside escapades with a woman in a cheetah print bikini. Towards the end of the video’s storyline, the woman is pictured among a crowd of fans carrying signs, with hers revealing the same message Kourtney delivered: “Travis I’m pregnant.”
The couple later hinted on social media that the reference to the video was in fact, intentional.
“Overwhelmed with gratitude and joy for God’s blessing and plan,” Kourtney wrote on Instagram, following a sweet series of photos picturing her well-along baby bump next to Travis, who kissed it in one pic, and pretend-drummed it with his drumsticks in another.

Kourtney and Travis’ – otherwise known by their funky ship name, Kravis – over-the-top energy didn’t stop at the mid-concert pregnancy reveal. The couple revealed the gender of their little newcomer over the weekend in a flashy, yet totally adorable way.
Their big moment began with a suspenseful drumroll and a wide-smiling Kourtney sitting on Travis’ lap behind a drum kit. As the drum sequence ended, a slew of blue streamers burst into the sky, announcing the coming arrival of a boy!
The pregnancy news was very welcome after the couple had been trying to conceive via in vitro fertilization (IVF), a personal journey documented on the Kardashian’s reality TV show. In May, Kourtney revealed they were “officially done with IVF,” and had their focus set on “what God has in store for us. If that's a baby, I believe it will happen." After this medical scare, we’re hoping only the best for Kourtney and Travis.
