Last cookie season, Girl Scouts of the USA made room for a brand-new flavor – Raspberry Rally. Emulating the iconic Thin Mint, the cookie featured a thin shortbread wafer infused with rich raspberry flavoring and dipped in a delicious chocolate coating. Per the organization, the Raspberry Rally Girl Scout cookie was exclusively sold online in an effort to give participating Girl Scouts more experience in e-commerce and entrepreneurship.
The pink cookie ultimately proved to be berry popular, so much so that it sold out in a matter of hours. Enduring such high demand, eBay users acted like pesky concert ticket scalpers, auctioning off boxes for literal hundreds of dollars.
With that, joy is fleeting. A spokesperson for Girl Scouts of the USA said the organization is calling it quits and discontinuing the Raspberry Rally Girl Scout cookie for the upcoming sales season.
“Last year, Raspberry Rally cookies were introduced as part of a pilot online-only sales strategy,” they told TODAY.com. “This was a fun and new way to teach girls omnichannel business skills and expand our cookie portfolio by introducing an exciting new flavor profile to the Girl Scout Cookie Program. While Raspberry Rally was extremely popular last year, we are taking a pause this season to prioritize supplying our classic varieties.”
Don't Worry – There Are Plenty More Girl Scout Cookies To Go Around
Whether you prefer mouthwatering Thin Mints, peanut-buttery Tagalongs, crisp coconut and chocolate Caramel deLights, sea salt brownie Adventurefuls, or the classic shortbread Trefoils, the traditional Girl Scout cookie lineup is not going anywhere.
The next Girl Scout cookie season will start next January and last through April.
To buy cookies online or in-person, you can find your cookie plug easily by searching your zip code here.
Since the founding of the Girl Scouts, cookie sales have helped propel millions of young women through essential life skills in sales, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Your purchase can leave a real positive effect on local troops, which makes picking up a box or two (or ten!) 1000% worth it.
Girl Scouts #ForEveryGirl
Girl Scouts is proud to include all girls in cookie sales.
Consider supporting trans Girl Scouts this upcoming season by securing your sweets online, or search around for your local troop supporting trans scouts.
Another great troop to support is Troop 6000, a NYC-based Girl Scouts program that brings the scout experience to girls living in the city's temporary housing. The group is backed by the Troop 6000 Transition Initiative, which works to guide Girl Scouts and their families as they move to permanent housing in New York.
How much do Girl Scout cookies cost?
Last cookie season, each box of Girl Scout cookies cost $5, with the exception of the Girl Scout S'mores and gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookies. Those flavors cost $6.
Prepare to pay more per box this upcoming season, though. Girl Scouts of the USA have noted that the price of a single box of cookies will increase by $1, likely to keep up with inflation.
How fast did Raspberry Rally sell out?
Local Girl Scout leaders stated in an email to their New York chapter that the Raspberry Rally cookie sold out in "less than a day" when they hit online sales.
Boxes of the highly-anticipated cookie swiftly floated resale market, with prices getting hiked up to $20 (or sometimes $100) a box.
